Child marriage. That is the reality of so many children living in Ghana. In underdeveloped countries, child marriage is one of the bigger problems that underdeveloped countries. One of the sad things is for women the traditional age of marriage is much lower than the male's marriage age. In 2015, 12 million girls in underdeveloped countries are married before age 18. Ghana put laws in place so girls cannot be married before 18, yet 12% of children are married between 15-17 which is about 2 million kids. In the law, they wrote people inconstantly obeyed it, because of that the child marriage issue will continue to be a problem, will grow until it becomes out of control. Even though the leaders of Sub Saharan Africa are trying to make a solution, the solution is not working very well or constantly.
The earlier children get married, the quicker they are getting pregnant. Another reason that females marry early than men is for the dowry that family's get the quicker they marry of their daughters. Religious and social influences are another reason why women get married before they are 18 years old. Women in Ghana are not permitted to work they usually get married to get out of poverty.
